Virtual Therapy for Anxiety in California
Maybe you can hold it together on the outside, but inside? Your thoughts race, you’re constantly seeing all the worst case scenarios, and your body never truly relaxes.
With anxiety, even the smallest decisions feel heavy. You replay conversations over and over. You second-guess your every move. You do everything you can to avoid judgment, disappointment, or “being too much” (but somehow always end up feeling that way anyway).
Whether you’re dealing with social anxiety, perfectionism, chronic overthinking, or just a constant sense of overwhelm, anxiety doesn’t show up “just in your head.” It lives in your nervous system.
That’s why the kind of therapy I offer doesn’t just teach you to “manage symptoms.” I gently guide you through a process of understanding your anxiety patterns and building new ways to relate to yourself. I’ll help you understand your anxiety, tend to it with compassion, and shift into self-trust — not just in your mind, but in your nervous system too.
Anxiety can show up in so many ways:
Constant overthinking or spiraling thoughts
Feeling like you’re not in control of your thoughts or feelings
Chronic tension in your shoulders, jaw, or chest
Trouble sleeping, relaxing, or feeling truly present
Fear of being judged, saying the wrong thing, or letting someone down
Rigid thinking, perfectionism, or catastrophizing
Over-scheduling, over-performing, or over-pleasing just to feel safe or accepted
Avoiding experiences that cause you anxiety, even if they could be good for you
Sensory sensitivity or feeling overstimulated by everyday life
An inner critic that won’t quit, no matter how hard you try
If this hits close to home, you’re not alone — and you don’t have to navigate this alone, either.
I provide holistic anxiety therapy online for overthinkers, people-pleasers, and high-achievers who are ready to stop letting anxiety control their lives.
What is Anxiety?
At its core, anxiety is your body’s built-in alarm system. It’s a natural survival response (from waaaay back in the caveman days) designed to protect you. Anxiety is your body’s way of keeping you safe by showing up in response to stress, uncertainty, or anything your brain perceives as a potential threat. When this system is functioning well, it helps you navigate real danger.
But even when there’s no immediate danger, your nervous system might still sound the alarm — and that’s when anxiety begins to interfere with daily life.
Neurobiologically, this happens when the brain learns to associate certain experiences with risk (like social situations, work pressure, or uncertainty). Over time, these well-worn neural pathways reinforce hypervigilance, negative predictions, and a near-constant state of anxiety. In an attempt to gain control or prevent pain, the brain may rehearse worst-case scenarios, thinking it’s helping. But the constant scanning, overthinking, and tension just leaves you feeling worse.
Therapy helps to regulate this system by gently rewiring these patterns and supporting you in building safety & ease from within.
Here’s what you can expect from anxiety therapy.

FAQs
about virtual anxiety therapy
-
Anxiety shows up in many forms, and it doesn’t always look like panic attacks or obvious fear (although of course it can look like those things). For some people, it looks like constant worrying, overthinking, or ruminating. For others, it feels like tension in the body, racing thoughts, trouble sleeping, or always needing to plan for the worst.
You might notice that you avoid certain situations because they feel too overwhelming. Or maybe you over-function, always staying busy and always prepared, because slowing down feels unsafe. If you often feel on edge, like you can’t relax or stop your thoughts from spiraling, that could be a sign that anxiety is playing a bigger role in your life.

Stress is typically a response to something specific like a deadline, a conflict, or a life change. While it can be a cumulation of many things, it’s typically situational and (hopefully) short-term. Once the stressor is gone, the nervous system usually returns to baseline.
Anxiety, on the other hand, tends to be more persistent. It’s not always tied to one clear event, and it can linger even when everything seems “fine.” Anxiety often shows up as chronic worry, fear of what could go wrong, or a sense of dread that’s hard to shake.

That’s completely valid, and it’s something I’ve heard from clients. Many folks have tried talk therapy or coping strategies that maybe helped a little but didn’t create lasting change. That’s often because anxiety doesn’t just live in your thoughts, it lives in your nervous system.
The approach I use goes deeper. In addition to evidence-based methods like CBT and ACT for skill-building, I incorporate:
EMDR and Brainspotting, which target the parts of the brain where anxious patterns are stored, helping you process fear at the root.
Internal Family Systems (IFS), which helps you get to know the parts of you that feel anxious, critical, or overwhelmed, and approach them with compassion rather than resistance.
These modalities help create holistic, embodied shifts in how you experience safety, self-trust, and emotional regulation.

If anxiety is interfering with how you show up in your life, your relationships, your work, your ability to rest or make decisions, or really anything else, therapy can help.
You might be a good fit for anxiety therapy with me if:
You’re tired of overthinking everything
You feel stuck in patterns like people-pleasing or perfectionism
You’ve tried to “fix it” on your own and still feel overwhelmed
You want to understand yourself better, not just push through
You’re open to exploring how anxiety lives in your body, not just your mind
Therapy isn’t a quick fix, but with the right support, it can be transformational.

Yes! Online therapy can be just as effective as in-person therapy for treating anxiety. In fact, for many clients dealing with anxiety, online therapy can actually feel safer and more accessible.
You get to meet from the comfort of your own space, without the added stress of traffic, parking, or unfamiliar environments. That alone can make it easier to open up and regulate your nervous system.
I use evidence-based practices that translate well to a virtual format, and I’ve worked with many clients online who’ve made powerful progress. As long as you have a private space and a stable internet connection, we can create a therapeutic experience that supports meaningful change.
